These booking conditions apply to holiday arrangements made with us in the UK, which we agree to provide or perform as part of our contract with you. All references in these booking conditions to “holiday”, “booking”, “contract”, “package”, “tour” or “arrangements” mean such holiday arrangements unless otherwise stated.
The following forms a contract between yourself herein referred to as the Client and Pearl Holidays UK Ltd.

Choosing the ideal hotel of your choice can be a daunting experience, especially when travelling to long haul destinations. Most hotels we work with are either 4 or 5 star and in some cases chic 3 star hotels, that in fact deserve to have 4 stars. However there may be cases where these hotels may not always be available in which case we would provide you with an alternate hotel that is equally attractive. For those clients wishing to keep their cost down without compromising on a bit of luxury, we also work with Guest Houses that are basic and yet competitive, and we could provide you with prices on request.
Our website is very informative and provides as much information about the hotels, supplemented with lots of images for your perusal.
Single guests occupying a double room, would usually be required to pay a single extra supplement. Hotels generally price their rooms as doubles, Twins or family rooms and seldom reduce the rates if they are occupied by a single guest, the reason for this being that the cost of cleaning the room and providing fresh linen remain the same irrespective of how many people occupy it.
There are instances when hotels can provide single rooms which are generally smaller and sometimes less well-appointed than other categories. There would usually be a supplement for these rooms, however the overall cost will usually be less than if a single guest occupies a double room. Single rooms are seldom guaranteed on excursions and touring holidays. Supplements already paid will be refunded in the event that a single room previously confirmed is not available.
Accommodation in all hotels, regardless of the rating, will be in standard rooms (sometimes named superior/deluxe) based on twins or doubles unless otherwise stated.
Minimum stays are required at certain hotels for certain periods. Where applicable these will be advised at time of booking.
TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN
If you are holidaying with very young children, it is important to note that child seats are not provided during hotel transfers and the legislation varies from country to country. If you require a car seat, we would advise you to either take your own with you, or speak to the hotel reception who we're sure will do their best to try and arrange this for you - there may well be an additional charge for this.
FREE CHILD ACCOMODATION
Children may share a room with their parents free of charge . Some hotels may provide an extra bed but there is usually a charge for this service. The same applies for the supply of baby cots if available. Meal charges will be payable for accompanying children if not already arranged with your Pearl holidays UK consultant prior to departure.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND SPECIAL NEEDS
AMENDMENTS or CANCELLATIONS
You may amend your booking at any time by informing us in wring or via email for which an admin fee of £50 per booking is payable by the client. This amount is payable even if we are unsuccessful in being able to make the amendment due to supplier restrictions. If in the event we are unable to make the necessary amendments, your booking will be treated as a cancellation and the standard cancellation fees would apply depending on the date of cancellation. If you wish to avoid paying this cancellation fee you may transfer your booking to a third party, and for a nominal admin fee of £50 we could make the necessary name changes and correspondence information. A further fee may be payable to the airline to issue a new ticket.
Cancellations made 45 days or more prior to departure from the UK will be non-chargeable and refunded in full less any bank charges and a nominal admin fee of £50.
Should you wish to re-book an alternative date of departure, then the tour package fees in effect at that time will apply. In cases where the rate has increased the difference will be payable, and in cases where the rates have depreciated then a refund will be offered to you on a pro-rata basis.
Due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond the Company’s control such as acts of war, acts of nature, civil unrest, adverse weather for which neither Pearl Holidays UK nor our suppliers have control over, we will make every endeavour to make alternative arrangements to continue your holiday but will not be under obligation to pay compensation of any sort.
Hence we advise that you have suitable insurance in place in case of such events.
Any amendments or changes that are made for group bookings should be notified to us in writing or email by the group leader where we will make every effort to accommodate these changes.
If for some reason you decide to change a hotel or service to a higher grade, then the difference would have to be paid. If you decide to downgrade your hotel and cancel a particular add on activity or service not included in your package, then we would refund you on a pro-rata basis.
Your payment can be made in sterling pounds or US Dollars and is held safely in a trust until your return from your dream holiday giving you absolute peace of mind.
If you are making your booking within a period of less than 6 weeks prior to the departure date, then the full price of the tour is payable. Pearl Holidays UK reserve the right to change your itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances prior to accepting any payment from you.
In these situations we would give you ample notice and give you the opportunity to choose an alternative itinerary at no cost to you.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
Arrival/Check in times at most hotels is between 12.00 Noon and 3.00pm, whilst Departure/Checkout times are between 10.00am and 12 Noon.
If your arrival/check in time is considerably earlier than the times stipulated you have to pay for the previous nights stay ,however some hotels would overlook this if you are within an hour or less earlier than they were expecting your arrival but this is solely at the hotel's discretion. If you have arrived earlier than the arrival/check in time and do not wish to pay for the previous nights stay, you could speak to the concierge and arrange for your luggage to be stored safely whilst you are free to have a look around your surrounding areas and places of interest until your check in time.
MEALS & ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGES
Most of our packages offered in Sri Lanka are on a half board basis which includes buffet breakfast and buffet dinner and this is included in the price you have paid. If you opt not to avail yourself of this breakfast and dinner already included in your package price and decide to savour the local cuisine available near your hotel you may do so, but the cost of this breakfast or dinner offered by the hotel will not be refundable.
The hotel reception will be at hand to give you useful information on local restaurants and arrange a taxi for you for which payment can be made by yourself directly to the taxi and restaurant.
If your excursion begins early in the morning and you are pressed for time to enjoy a buffet breakfast, you may inform the reception the previous evening and a packed breakfast will be arranged for you at no extra cost, which you can collect from the reception prior to departing on your excursion.
We have not included Lunch in our packages as when on excursions, most guests prefer to dine at local restaurants along the way that offer a wide range of local cuisine. Most excursions end around 7pm in the evening when you will be driven back to your your hotel to freshen up before enjoying a buffet dinner included in your package.
If however you wish to order your dinner from the Ala Carte menu offered in the hotel restaurants and bars, you may do so and this will be charged to your room. Whilst on excursions, lunch will have to be paid directly by yourself to the respective restaurant.
If you decide not to avail yourself of the daily excursion, you may have either the buffet lunch or order from the A la Carte menu and this will be charged to your room. Alternatively you may decide to explore the area and enjoy the local cuisine and make payment directly to the restaurant.
Some of the hotels we work with offer ALL INCLUSIVE Packages. These however are not available 24 hours a day and do not include unlimited food and beverage, Minibar, dishes from the A La Carte Menu, bottled water, foreign alcoholic spirits and foreign beers. Please check with the reception as hotels have different terms in regards to All Inclusive inclusions and non inclusions and timings during which All Inclusive rates apply.
ANNIVERSARY OFFERS
Most hotels offer special anniversary room rates for Silver Wedding anniversaries (25 Years) & Golden Anniversaries (50 Years). However you will need to provide evidence of this by way of providing a copy of your wedding certificate to the reception upon check in, who will check the authenticity of your discount claim and return it back to you.
DISABILITY & REDUCED MOBILITY GUESTS
Since most of our packages include excursions and substantial travel throughout the tour on roads where standards may sometimes not be what you are usually accustomed to, you might want to consider having a carer with you. Please keep this in mind for your own personal health reasons when making your booking with us.
ROOMS FOR COUPLES
In some countries such as Sri Lanka and Dubai amongst others, same sex couples are not allowed to share a double room with a double bed. If two male/female companions who are friends travelling together, booking a twin room throughout your stay is an option that you could discuss with the hotel as this is usually within their guide lines.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS & RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS
Most countries we send our clients to celebrate religious festivals and have public holidays, days on which alcohol may not be consumed in public areas other than the hotel you are staying in. Restaurants outside of the hotel are not permitted to serve alcohol on these days.
OTHER GROUPS
There may be instances where there will be other groups of guests such as yourselves who would be staying in the same hotel as you, who may be school groups, associations and clubs over which neither Pearl Holidays UK or the concerned hotel have any control of.
PREPAID EXCURSIONS
If you decide not to participate in an excursion already paid for and included in your package, the cost of this will not be refunded.
SHOPPING
Pearl Holidays UK will not be held responsible for the quality or authenticity of any items purchased during your holiday in Sri Lanka or the Maldives. Please retain all receipts when shopping as VAT can be claimed back on departure at the airport in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
PEACE OF MIND
For your protection, your holiday with Pearl Holidays UK is ATOL Protected the leading travel industry association, and we fully comply with its code of ethical conduct. However you will need to have your own Medical and Travel Insurance arranged for everyone travelling with you prior to departure, copies of which should be provided to Pearl Holidays UK.
Due to the current pandemic, we are offering a Free 60 Day Cancellation Policy. This means that you could still book your holiday with us, and in the event that you are unable to travel due to the above mentioned reason, you can cancel your booking with no loss to you provided you cancel at least 60 days before you are meant to travel.
Alternatively we could try and negotiate with your chosen hotel, to see if they could extend your booking to a later date.

Telephone calls to us may be recorded for Training and Quality Purposes.
Some of the marketing functions carried out on our website may include a ‘recommend a friend’ promotion.
